Interactive cat toys are a great way to keep your cat entertained and happy. They also help keep his mind sharp and his body healthy. I have bought a number of cat toys over the years, but the last interactive cat toy I bought got used by my cats more than all the other toys combined. Many of these products aren’t cheap, which is the trade-off. However you can get some really wonderful ones without breaking the bank.

So what makes a great interactive toy for cats? It has to be something that interests them and it also has to be durable. If a cat is going to play with a toy, it needs to be able to withstand pouncing, scratching and being batted around. If it breaks easily, it is pretty much a regular toy that you paid a lot of money for! With that said, here are a few I would recommend:

FroliCat Interactive Laser Toy (Brilliant Pet) – every cat loves to chase laser pointers, right? Well with this toy, you simply turn it on and it emits a laser for your cat to chase. It has two modes: automatic and manual. In automatic mode, it turns off after 15 minutes to save battery power.

SmartCat Seek a Prize Toy Box – this is another great idea that will keep your cat busy for hours on end. This wooden box hides your cats toys and they have to find them, and pull them out. You can even put some food or treats inside for them to find. The possibilities are almost endless.

Petmate Crazy Circle – my cats love this toy. It has a ball inside a partially closed circle that they can bat around. They will dive at it and smack the ball around and run around with it, smacking it all the way around. The only downside is they get so overzealous that they make a ton of noise when they flip it over.
